Ok, so you know or think you’ll enjoy being a diver! This is the final step you will take enabling you to safely and much more cheaply embark upon diving adventures in the future. After the course you will be certified to rent scuba equipment and go diving without any further instruction. After completing this course we are confident that all your future holidays will be for diving, diving and more diving!
We can adapt the course to fit your schedule, but typically the Open Water course is conducted over 4 days. Instruction encompasses a variety of methods and media such as the PADI Open Water Course DVD, and high quality PADI Open Water Course manual. Shortly after this it's off to "confined" water, the shallow sandy shore of the beautiful Longbeach (alternate marine park locations also available depending on conditions) for your introduction to breathing underwater and the basic life saving skills such as clearing your mask and breathing equipment from water, checking depth and air guages, and obtaining and maintaining neutral buoyancy. These are just some of the compenents that we teach you to familiarse yourself with both your equipment and the underwater environment.
After the skills and dive theory knowledge development modules are completed we take you on four open water dives on the marine park. Repeating the same skills that you learned in shallower waters, we now build your confidence and abilities on actual dive sites.
We pride ourselves on providing first time experiences which derives from a hatred of hearing the stories from certified divers who did not receive quality instruction and thus failed to enjoy their first dives. Frequently common problems such as ear equalization will frighten novice divers and if such issues are ommitted from briefings these same divers may never dive again! With obsessive commitment to every detail of your course we ensure that you will be a) aware of potential problems before they happen, and b) fully aware of all the critical steps to acheive solutions for any forseeable problem.
The PADI system is the best in the world and nothing is left to chance.
